  • Utilization of optogenetic mouse models to study presynaptic mechanisms related to pathology in the early and pre-symptomatic stages of cognitive impairment.

  • Role of the Immune System and Inflammation in normal cognitive aging.

  • Cognitive and functional outcomes of sleep-wake cycle disturbances in aging.

  • Role of the gut-brain axis in the development of cognitive impairment in aging.
